February is upon us, Munster Vales have a very exciting season ahead with a number of marketing and developmental initiatives to further support tourism providers within the region.

Launch of Website: Munster Vales will officially launch the redevelopment of MunsterVales.com in mid February.

Currently in excess of 80% of tourists depend on the internet to research and plan their holidays. To respond to this need, Munster Vales has created a modern, user-friendly, mobile-optimised website, to inform and inspire potential visitors. The website is visual in its design showcasing the many great experiences within Ballyhoura, Galtee, Comeragh, Nagle and Knockmealdown mountain ranges.

To celebrate the launch of the website, Munster Vales will be hosting a competition through our social media channels to mark this exciting new development so keep an eye out for this!

Networking Training Workshop: Munster Vales is hosting a Networking Training Workshop on March 6th in Tipperary Heritage Excel Center in Tipperary Town.

The aim of this workshop is to provide Munster Vales stakeholders with an opportunity to network with each other whilst there will be an opportunity to update existing networking skills and gain valuable insights into into effective tools for collaboration. This will be an interactive workshop where delegates will hear from other providers how collaboration benefits their tourism business.

This will be the first of three workshops taking place in 2020 that will focus on specific themes, the first of these will be the power of collaboration and networking in promoting tourism business within Munster Vales.

Training and Mentoring: Munster Vales is proudly supported by the Local Enterprise Offices of Cork, Tipperary, Waterford and Limerick in the provision of mentoring and training support to tourism providers.

If there is any specific support or training required? please get in touch and we can chat about putting supports in place to assist your business. Munster Vales will be running social media training in the near future. We will be back in touch with course information in due course.

Holiday World: Munster Vales have had a positive presence at Dublin Holiday World at the end of January 2020. It was great opportunity to promote the array of attractions, activities and accommodation providers within the region.

Visitor numbers were in or around 45,000 mark which apparently was the show’s biggest attendance. It was a fantastic experience to collaborate with Pure Cork and Ballyhoura in promoting Munster Vales to the attendees of Holiday World.
Press Coverage: We have been busy with promoting the many great experiences within Munster Vales through press coverage and social media channels.

Claire Scott recently visited Munster Vales with her friend and wrote a lovely article in the Mail On Sunday about her adventures in Munster Vales. From horse trekking in Ballyhoura with John Joe, taking a walk in Doneraile Wildlife Park to walking in the Glen of Aherlow with Michael and Helen of Aherlow Fáilte. Claire was treated to some top class accommodation in Raheen House, Ballyhoura Luxury Hostel and Glasha Farmhouse. Claire thoroughly enjoyed her visit to the region.

We look forward to welcoming Tara Povey, Travel Writer and Blogger in the coming weeks for a mix of outdoor adventure and heritage. Tara Povey has a significant following through her social media channels. Since the end of May last year, Munster Vales have generated over €235,000 worth of PR value in promoting the region which in turn has assisted tourism providers in promoting brand awareness of their business. We hope that targeted publicity trips like this will welcome new visitors to your door.

Munster Vales will continue to work towards gaining more national and international press coverage throughout 2020.
Content Creation: Munster Vales are constantly striving to improve their content image bank, We have recently completed a serious of new videos that are now available through You Tube, Please click the following link for access: Munster Vales Videos. Going forward, We will continue to develop our image bank which will showcase the amazing experiences on offer to visitors. This year we will focus on amazing images that will capture the beautiful towns and villages within Munster Vales. These will be available when the project is completed.

East West Mapping were in touch to say that they now have three fantastic maps available to visitors and avid walkers alike that are seeking hikes in the Commeragh, Knockmealdown or Galtee Mountain ranges. Limerick have unveiled a new brand 'ATLANTIC EDGE, EUROPEAN EMBRACE' for visitors which is inspiring, Check out Discover Limerick for more detailed information.

The 10th edition of the exciting Biking Blitz Series kicks off Sunday 23rd February @10am at Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails. The Biking Blitz is a mass start cross country mountain bike event, aimed primarily at beginners but with something for everyone. There are two categories, “Baggy Shorts” for beginners or “Super Pro” for more experienced riders, plus youth categories from U6 to U18. Strategic Development Plan: Last but not least, we are very excited to announce that Munster Vales are commencing a 5 Year Strategic Development Plan for Munster Vales. We will need your input into the strategic direction of Munster Vales and therefore we will be hosting public consultations during the year. We will be in touch with you about this in due course.
