Clonmel Junction Arts Festival is a varied festival but with a focus on performance with theatre, circus, dance, rock, world music, comedy and lots of free entertainment all on the programme. A unique feature are the festival cafes, which see artists convert disused shops and offices in the town into artist spaces where they host a range of workshops during the festival.

The Common Thread Cafe has grown out of this and is now a permanent fixture. During the festival it hosts a number of children’s events, but also has a year round programme of events and workshops as well as being a great place to get a cup of coffee!
There is always a very big international element to events, in previous years artists from the USA, Belgium, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Spain, Norway and the UK as well as home grown ones have performed in Clonmel.
The festival is based in Clonmel and draws crowds from miles around, with over 40,000 attending last year, recession be damned!
