The Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival will take place over the weekend of January 25 and 26, 2020. The festival base is Aherlow House Hotel and buses will take participants to the walk locations in the area.
The event is organised by Aherlow Failte Society and the walk leaders and stewards are provided by the Galtee Walking Club.
Walks on Saturday, January 25
A walk
Galtee Horseshoe. Bus leaves at 9:15am. Walk facilitator John Lonergan.
B walk
Lake Curra in the Galtees. Bus leaves at 10:00am. Walk facilitator Tom Lyons.
There is a B+ option of climbing up above the lake to reach the Galtee Wall.
C walk
Millennium Stone Loop on forest tracks. Walk starts from the hotel. No bus required. Walk facilitator Pat Kinane.
Walks on Sunday, January 26
A walk
Rossadrehid to Lake Muskry to Galtybeag to Cush and down to Clydagh Bridge. Bus leaves at 9:15am. Walk facilitator Tom Lyons.
B walk
Bane Hill on the eastern end of the Galtees. Bus leaves at 10:00am. Walk facilitator Thos O'Neill.
C walk
The Dolmen Loop from Lisvernane Village. Bus leaves at 11:00am. Walk facilitator Noel McGrath
