Message from the CEO of Fáilte Ireland

A record level of funding for the tourism industry was secured by Minister Catherine Martin for Budget 2021. The increase of €59 million on the 2020 allocation for tourism will help to meet the urgent needs of thousands of tourism providers, while providing long-term hope for the sector. CEO Paul Kelly is extremely pleased that the overall tourism package secured by the Minister reflects the urgency and level of action required to meet the needs of a sector in deep crisis.

LEO Waterford Brexit Webinars

Local Enterprise Office Waterford are reaching out to local businesses to help with Brexit preparations. In dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, Brexit has somewhat taken a back seat. However, following the first stage of negotiations, Brexit is set to become a reality as the UK’s Brexit transition period comes to an end on January 1st 2021. To ease this transition, LEO Waterford will host a series of free bite-sized webinars which are designed to help local businesses plan and take effective action for Brexit and beyond. OPW Site Updates

Cahir Castle in Co. Tipperary has re-opened from 17 October, with limited access to the courtyards only. The Swiss Cottage has closed for the season and is planned to re-open in Spring 2021. Dungarvan Castle and Ormond Castle have closed due to restrictions, while Doneraile Estate remains open with limited access to the grounds. No guided tours will take place until further notice. There is exterior access to the Rock of Cashel, offering half price admission. Online booking is required. In keeping with the latest Level 5 restrictions, outdoor playgrounds, play areas and parks will remain open with protective measures in place.
