As the sun rises over the Galtees, we will be busy preparing an exceptional breakfast for you. Barnahown is all about doing things your way, whether you need to grab-and-go for a busy day at work, catch a sunrise hike or you prefer a slow breakfast we have the ideal wake-up for you. However you choose to enjoy breakfast, you're assured locally sourced ingredients with most suppliers growing and producing within a 20km radius. Not to mention the Barnahown hens.

The House

O'Keeffe's mid-1800s farmhouse was built by the local land-owning Kingston family. The home recently enjoyed a sensitive restoration, with local Galtee artisans showcasing the original construction.

The Owner 

After 20 years in the corporate world, Ciara O'Brien took on a new challenge. She loves to hike (in luxury!) and wants to help visitors enjoy the hidden gems of Mitchelstown & The Galtees/Ballyhoura.

The Town 

Mitchelstown is famous for its beautiful Georgian Quarter and fine hospitality. At the heart of the famous Golden Vale, Mitchelstown has a growing, innovative food and beverage producer community.
