Barrons is one of the oldest bakeries in Ireland using scotch brick ovens since 1887. This gives its crusty bread a unique taste and flavour. Steeped in history & tradition-Barrons pride themselves in providing bread and confectionery using the finest quality ingredients and recipes that have been passed down through 5 generations.

Barron’s is one of a handful of bakery’s licenced to produce the famous Waterford Blaa which was brought to Waterford by the French Huguenots in the 1600s and has become a stable food in Waterford ever since.
Barrons bread is sold daily in the adjoining coffee house along with freshly prepared food and confectionery made onsite using local fresh food. The coffee shop boasts a modern spacious interior with a private mezzanine area upstairs and serves hot breakfasts, lunch, savoury snacks and delicious desserts. Traditional treats such as chester cake and Battenburg can still be found in the confectionery display as well as a varied selection of favourite sweet treats. Takeaway options available daily, including our Breakfast Blaa, freshly brewed Arabica Coffee, sandwiches made on Barrons Bread & lots more.
Pre-Arranged Personal tours of the bakery are available where one can see the rare brick ovens and breath in the smell and the atmosphere of a traditional working bakery.
Barron’s bread can be purchased in a selection of surrounding supermarkets and shops in Waterford and County Cork and every Thursday at the local Dungarvan Farmers Market.
